Countryside Day

A day dedicated to celebrating just a few of the many rural practices & activities the UK has to offer. 

2026 VENUE CONFIRMED

The Mid-Somerset Agricultural Society is pleased to announce it will be hosting the Countryside Day on the showground again in 2026.

Hedge laying Competition

The MSAS annual Hedge-laying competition is split into two classes: Open & Intermediate. All hedges are to be laid in North Somerset Style. 

Vintage Tractor Run

Join in the fun as a fleet of Vintage Tractors take to the streets of Somerset! Tractors must be at least 25 years old to enter. Bacon Sandwich included in entry fee. 

Land Rover Meet

Bring your Land Rover along and meet fellow enthusiasts whilst showcasing your vehicle to members of the public. Non-Land Rover owners also welcome to join in!

Family Fun Activities 

There's plenty to do and see at the Countryside Day including Clay Pigeon Shooting & Have a go Gun Dog Scurry. You can also enjoy watching the fantastic craftsmanship of the Hedge-layers, browse the variety of Land Rovers on display and wave off the Vintage Tractors as they set off on their annual tractor run. The event is free entry, parking, a few trade stands and catering are on site. The extra event activities will be cash only. To ensure visitors get the full countryside experience, this event will be based in a field so wellies are a necessity!
