In the light of the current situation the Executive Committee held a crisis teleconference on Friday 27th march and I would like to share with you the outcome of this meeting:

  1. Do we continue to plan for a 2020 show?

Yes. We currently consider that, with the show date almost five month hence, it is likely that we will be allowed to run the show.

We are, therefore, continuing with the planning for this year’s show, as usual, but will always follow government guidelines.

  1. Should we hold the show on the new or old site?

The old site.  Due to the general uncertainty the committee felt that, subject to      the permission of the land-owners, we should hold this year’s show on the same site as last year to avoid the need to incur the infra-structure costs        necessary to enable the use of the new site.

  1. Should we commit to the erection of our new building?

No. Again, due to the uncertainty created by the effects of the virus, any un-necessary expenditure should be avoided for the time being. As soon as we are confident that the country is recovering, we will re-confirm the order for the steelwork and other aspects of the build.

To Summarise, we are planning to hold the 2020 show, on the original site, and do hope that we can rely on your support which is especially important this year
